Preface

The UN world climate report, published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) shows that the world climate is changing considerably. Already today appear first negative impacts on the environment that could threaten the humans' life quality and all countries' economic development.

Energy consumption on the one hand and its availability and security of supply on the other hand determine our economic and social systems' further existence as important climate drivers.

Against the background of climate change, enterprises must observe their business concept's effect on the environment. Since investors and banks in the future will judge enterprises much stronger after their climate and energy consumption strategies than today, this gains more importance.So environmental protection becomes an increasingly important aspect concerning business decisions.

As a modern and innovative company, KIRCHHOFF Automotive Deutschland is aware of this responsibility for the environment.

Already since 1995 KIRCHHOFF  Automotive Deutschland has been working with a quality management system, and since 2004 with an integrated management system for quality, environment and labour protection. So far, the examinations according to the international standards DIN EN ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, DIN EN 14001:2005 and EMAS for quality or environmental management, respectively, including the annual audits have been passed successfully by KIRCHHOFF.

With the EMAS validation of our plant in Attendorn a representative sign should be set soll for the whole Automotive Group how we realize our social responsibility regarding the environment. Furthermore, we see a chance in this to offer the interested public an insight into the operating environmental protection.
